Andrea Bressan

Andrea Bressan has been Principal Bassoon of the Budapest Festival Orchestra since 1999. He has also performed as principal bassoon with leading ensembles including Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestra del Teatro Alla Scala, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and many others, working with renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Harding, Fabio Luisi, and Paavo Järvi.

As a soloist, he has performed major bassoon repertoire with top ensembles across Europe, the USA, South America, Japan, and China. He has received numerous awards, including the first prize at the International Competition in Tradate (1989) and the Sàndor Vegh Competition in Budapest (2014).

Andrea is a renowned chamber musician, regularly invited to festivals in Italy and abroad, collaborating with artists like Alexander Lonquich, Franco Petracchi, Bart Schneemann, and Tai Murray. He has recorded over 50 CDs, covering repertoire from Baroque music on period instruments to contemporary and ethno-jazz works.

He holds degrees in bassoon and Baroque bassoon from the Conservatorio of Vicenza and Verona, and has studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg and the University of Music Vienna. Andrea also performs Baroque and Classical bassoon with ensembles such as Venice Baroque Orchestra, Il Pomo d’Oro, and Concerto Italiano, under the direction of Jordi Savall, Sigiswald Kuijken, and Andrea Marcon.

Passionate about jazz, ethno, and contemporary music, he has collaborated for over 25 years with vibraphonist Saverio Tasca and artists including Paolo Fresu and Markus Stockhausen.

He is a respected teacher, giving masterclasses worldwide and currently serving as bassoon and Baroque bassoon professor at the Conservatorio “F. Dall’Abaco” in Verona.

Dudu Carmel

Oboist Dudu Carmel is a winner of the 1996 International Oboe Competition in Toulon, France and the 1990 François Shapira prize in Israel. He serves as principal oboist of the Israel Philharmonic, and is a faculty member of the Winds Department at both the Jerusalem Academy of Music and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University.

As soloist, he performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta, with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under Ivan Fischer; with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra under Yoav Talmi, and with orchestras in Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, France and Poland. He gave recitals in prestigious concert halls, such as the Chamber Music hall of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, he has recorded for radio stations in Europe and Israel and participated in chamber music festivals in Israel, Germany, Switzerland and Brazil.

Together with Prof. Thomas Indermühle, founder of The Oboe Festival in Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Dudu Carmel has been giving yearly master-classes there in addition to master classes he gives around the globe. Between the years 1992-1997, he was the principal oboist of the New Israeli Opera Orchestra, and since 1998 he has been playing as a guest oboist with the Budapest Festival orchestra. He studied at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel-Aviv and received his KA Diploma from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany, as a student of Prof. Thomas Indermühle.

Dudu Carmel is a founding member of the Israel Woodwind Quintet. He recorded label CD’s for the Israel Music Center, Camerata, Meridian, Centaur Records and DUX.

Spanish-Filipino flutist Rafael Adobas Bayog won the 1st Prize at the 2022 Kobe International Flute Competition, a recognition that launched his international career. Selected by Emmanuel Pahud for the Classeek Ambassador Programme, his stage freshness and artistic curiosity have connected with audiences in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kobe Bunka Hall, and Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo. Born in Ibiza to Filipino parents, he began studying flute at age eight with Joana Moragues, continuing later with Anikó Pusztai and Vicens Prats at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona. His desire to continue learning led him to Munich, where he studied with Andrea Lieberknecht, Natalie Schwaabe, Joseph Singer (piccolo), and Marion Treupel-Franck (baroque flute).

Rafael completed his training with a scholarship at the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra Academy, where he occasionally performed as principal flute. Since then, he has collaborated with orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester Hamburg, and Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. In September 2025, he began a new stage as Principal Flute of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, resident at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik.

In 2019, he received the 3rd Prize and the Best Performance of the Commissioned Work at the Carl Nielsen Competition, performing as a soloist with the Odense Symphony Orchestra and Copenhagen Philharmonic. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Münchner Kammerorchester, Ensemble Resonanz, and Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock.

Committed to music education, Rafael has given masterclasses at institutions such as the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, University of the Philippines, and Conservatori de Música de les Illes Balears, and has served as a jury member at the Cluj International Music Competition in 2023 and 2025, where he also conducted intensive classes. Since 2022, he has regularly collaborated as a guest professor at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears.

He has received scholarships from PE-Förderkreis, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz, Yamaha Europe, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Hezekiah Foundation).

Maura Marinucci has been Principal Clarinet of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London since September 2023, following four years in the same position with the Brussels Philharmonic (2019–2023).

She is regularly invited as Guest Principal Clarinet by leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Ulster Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Orchestre Symphonique de la Monnaie (Brussels), Orchestra of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Orchestra of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.

Earlier in her career, she performed with major European youth orchestras such as the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (Principal Clarinet in 2017), the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Animato Orchestra.

As a soloist, she has appeared with the Transylvania State Orchestra, I Solisti Aquilani, and the Orchestra of the De Sono Foundation. In June 2025, she gave the world premiere of the double concerto Goblin Market by Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen in Paris, alongside jazz saxophonist Émile Parisien.

A dedicated chamber musician, Maura Marinucci regularly tours throughout Europe, performing both classical and contemporary repertoire. She has also given recital performances with piano across Europe, Australia, and the United States.

She is currently Professor of Clarinet at the Royal Academy of Music in London, having previously held teaching positions at the conservatories of Novara and Pescara in Italy. She is also a Guest Professor of Clarinet at King’s College London. In addition, she has given masterclasses at numerous institutions, including the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Michigan State University, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Royal College of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and the Gheorghe Dima National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Boštjan Lipovšek

Boštjan Lipovšek, born on 18 July 1974 in Celje, Slovenia, began his musical education at the Secondary School of Music and Ballet, and continued his studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana with Professor Jože Falout, where he graduated and completed postgraduate studies. He further refined his technique with Radovan Vlatković at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. During his university years, he received the Prešeren Student Award for his performance of Richard Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.

Since 1995, he has held the position of Principal Horn of the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has collaborated with ensembles such as the Slovenian Philharmonic, Maribor Philharmonic, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, and the La Monnaie National Opera Orchestra in Brussels. He has appeared as guest principal horn with leading international ensembles including the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg, and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He regularly collaborates with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, taking part in tours and performances under the direction of Iván Fischer, as well as with conductors such as Anton Nanut, Uroš Lajovic, Marko Letonja, En Shao, Yakov Kreizberg, and Sian Edwards.

In 2001, he won the Città di Porcia International Competition in Italy, and in 2008 he received the Prešeren Fund Award for his artistic achievements. He is closely associated with contemporary Slovenian music, performing works by composers including Lojze Lebič, Ivo Petrić, Uroš Krek, Jani Golob, Tomaž Habe, and Vito Žuraj. He has recorded several CDs with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, featuring horn concertos by Strauss, Mozart, Glière, and Pauer, as well as premieres by Slovenian composers. Since 1999, he has been a professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where he holds the position of full professor, and since 2005 he has also taught at the Academy of Music in Zagreb..
